Every Filmspace member in Pzaz has a role, and each role comes with specific permissions tailored to their responsibilities in the filmmaking process. The roles are designed to reflect the workflows of modern film production teams. There are Five leading roles in Pzaz: Filmspace Owner, Filmspace Administrator, Creative Lead, Team Member and Collaborator. This article will explore these roles, their unique permissions, and how they enable you to manage your filmmaking projects effectively.
You can customise the permissions for all roles except the Filmspace Owner to meet your team’s specific needs. When a role is customised, the UI displays an icon to indicate the adjustments, making it clear which roles have been modified.
Collaborators, however, are unique in that their permissions are always minimal and specific to their assigned tasks or tools. You can define which functions a Collaborator can access on a case-by-case basis, ensuring precise control over their contributions.
The first four roles—Filmspace Owner, Filmspace Administrator, Creative Lead, and Team Member—are considered main members and have paid seats within the Filmspace. Based on their defined permissions, these roles are fully functional.
Collaborators, on the other hand, do not occupy paid seats. They are unpaid and intended for short-term or task-specific contributions. However, the number of functions they can access is restricted, ensuring they are used for highly focused purposes without incurring additional costs.
Pzaz’s roles and permissions are designed to foster collaboration while maintaining clear boundaries and accountability. For example, a Filmspace Owner can participate as a Team Member in another Filmspace, but roles cannot overlap within the same Filmspace. Filmspace Administrators can share administrative duties with others for streamlined management, while Team Members can create their own Filmspace and automatically assume the Owner role. Collaborators provide additional flexibility by allowing you to bring in external contributors for specific tasks without adding to the Filmspace’s paid seats. This structure ensures that each project is tailored to the team’s needs.
